Basking Ridge Student Awarded $25,000 Scholarship From Chick-Fil-A

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Basking Ridge student was among those to earn a $25,000 scholarship as part of the new Chick-fil-A™ Community Scholars program, which honors future leaders in the community they serve.

Basking Ridge native Angelina Xu, who attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has received a $25,000 scholarship from Chick-fil-A.

She was one of 13 community members selected nationwide for this inaugural community scholarship.

Xu was selected for the scholarship based on a number of factors including:

• After her aunt passed away due to cancer, Angelina began volunteering at a local children’s hospital in high school to give back.
• She started her school’s first Miracle Network Dance Marathon and raised more than $10,000 to support local kids in pediatric hospitals.
• Angelina aspires to use her degree in computer science to keep her aunt’s legacy alive through trailblazing minimally invasive and less expensive medical therapies.
