Basking Ridge Woman Killed In Early Morning Crash

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Basking Ridge woman was killed in an early morning crash in the township on Tuesday.
At 2:18 a.m., a 2002 Ford F-250 was travelling westbound on Spring Valley Boulevard when it veered off of the road striking trees and rolling several times, Bernards Township Police reported.
The driver, 31-year-old Margaret Collins, was pronounced dead at the scene after being extricated by the Liberty Corner Fire Department. A male passenger sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention on scene, police reported.

The roadway was shut down for about five hours while the Bernards Township Police along with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Officer Collision Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Responding agencies included the Bernards Township Police Department, Long Hill Township Police Department, Liberty Corner EMS, and the Liberty Corner Fire Department.
