Why are you seeking to run for Township Committee?
The inspiration and driving force behind my decision to seek reelection is the energy and the commitment I experienced with the residents of Bernards during the Covid pandemic and my first term as committeewoman and as Mayor. We live in a very special town, and I want to continue to serve the people of Bernards and work toward making our quality of life even better.
What issues do you feel need to be tackled in town?
We need to proceed with the “new normal”, as quickly and as safely as we can. It is critical that we keep our businesses open and serving our community, that our community services continue to provide the best quality of support possible, and in the face of rising inflation and the threat of recession we must continue to maintain our fiscally responsible path. Finally, we must ensure that every single one of our residents’ needs are heard, particularly our senior community.
What sets you apart from the challenging candidates?
My current service as a committeewoman, my service as Mayor, and my work at the state and national level give me both invaluable experience and networking ability that other candidates cannot match. In addition, my family has lived in Bernards for thirty years. During that time, I have seen Bernards grow, and I have been a part of that growth as a small business owner and working mother. This gives me a tremendous perspective and connection to Bernards that is unique.
What else would you like to share about yourself or your campaign?
My commitment and vision for Bernards will continue. I believe in putting community first in every aspect of what I do. Your vote for me will ensure that you have a very experienced, resourceful, and responsive committeewoman dedicated to representing our town and our residents every day.
