Bernards Police Celebrate Retirements Of Deputy Chief, Admin Assistant
Deputy Chief Eric Geleta had served the department for 29 years and Administrative Assitant Vivian Fentress served for more than 16 years.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Police Department recently celebrated the retirements of its Deputy Chief and Administrative Assistant.
The Township Committee passed a resolution on July 23 honoring Deputy Chief Eric Geleta on his retirement from the police department after 29 years of service.
"You have given generously of your time and efforts in a dignified, faithful and professional
manner; and have always put others before yourself," according to the resolution. "The Township Committee of the Township of Bernards sincerely appreciates the worthwhile contributions you have made towards the material development, communal welfare, safety and quality of life in Bernards Township; and the countless lives you have impacted within this jurisdiction."

The Township Committee also passed a resolution approving his unused accrued time totaling $70,971 for sick/personal days and $27,614 for vacation time.
"We wish Eric a happy and healthy retirement and thank him for his service to the citizens Bernards Township," according to Bernards Township PBA.

The Committee and police department also recognized Vivian Fentress' retirement. She served the police department for more than 16 years as an Administrative Assistant. A walkout ceremony honoring her retirement was held last week.
"You have given generously of your time and efforts in a dignified, faithful and professional
manner; and you have been the pillar of the Bernards Township Police Department and all that it
exemplifies," according to a resolution passed by the Committee at the July 23 meeting.
Vivian was gifted a silver card on behalf of the PBA "for her dedication to our department and the love she showed for all officers every day of her career! Congratulations Vivian!" according to Bernards Township PBA.
The Township Committee also passed a resolution approving her 60.5 hours of unused vacation accrual totaling $1,790.20.
