Bernards Police Hold Retirement Walkout Ceremony For Longtime Sergeant
Sgt. Margaret "Peggy" Corsentino has served Bernards Township for the past 22 years.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Police Department will host a traditional "walk out" ceremony to congratulate Sgt. Margaret "Peggy" Corsentino on her retirement.
The walk-out will be held on Thursday, March 31, at 3 p.m. at Bernards Township Police Headquarters at 1 Collyer Lane.
"All are invited to attend as we pay tribute to Sgt. Corsentino!" said Bernards Township Police Department.

Corsentino has served Bernards Township for the past 22 years.
Corsentino began her law enforcement career in 1995 first as a 911 dispatcher then sheriff’s officer in Hunterdon County. She started with Bernards Township in 2000 and rose to the rank of sergeant in 2016.

During her career in Bernards, she was assigned as a detective, served as the agencies' Domestic Violence Liaison Officer and was a training officer. She also instructed new recruits at both the Somerset and Morris County Police Academies and was a member of the Somerset County Crisis Negotiations Team.
"We offer Sgt. Corsentino best wishes after her distinguished law enforcement career as she begins this new chapter in her life. She will be greatly missed here however with always remain part of the BTPD family," said Chief Michael Shimsky.
