COVID Quarantine Tutors To Be Offered For Bernards Township Students At Home
The district has created a job description and is collecting the names of staff members who would be willing to do tutoring after school.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township is working to create "quarantine" tutors to help students, who have to be home, with their studies.
"Obviously I am hoping we won't need it that much but we want to have a supplemental resource for the students that are working from home in addition to the asynchronous learning," said Superintendent of Schools Nick Markarian at Sept. 13 Board of Education meeting.
The district has created a job description and is collecting the names of staff members who would be willing to do tutoring after school for students who have to be home for quarantine purposes only.

"It will strictly be for that purpose," said Markarian.
The parents or students would then request a tutor for a specific grade level and subject and arrangements would be made to offer tutoring through a Zoom call or something after school, especially for younger students in grades K through 5.

"That is the idea behind the quarantine tutors. We will have to be a little bit flexible in terms of timing and when each teacher can be available for which content area," said Markarian.
