Father-Son Bernards Township Police Officers Honored By Congressman Tom Kean Jr.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Father and son Bernards Township police officers Todd and Tyler Widitz have been recognized by Congressman Tom Kean Jr. as First Responder Hometown Heroes.

Kean said he was honoring the father and son from the Bernards Township Police Department for their service to the community.

In the statement, he described their work as an example of service shared across generations within one family.

Kean said Todd and Tyler Widitz serve Bernards Township with "a shared commitment to service, integrity, and courage."

He also said their willingness to answer calls, help people in need and make a positive difference in the community reflects the ideals of law enforcement.

"Their service is especially meaningful because it represents a legacy passed from one generation to the next," Kean said. "The example established by a father and carried forward by his son is a testament to the values of family, duty, and service."

Kean also thanked the officers directly in the statement.

"Thank you Todd and Tyler for your commitment and service to the Bernards Township community!" he said.
