BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Township is seeking a $1.8 million federal grant to add paths and build a culvert at Pleasant Valley Park.

Bernards Township approved the application for FY2027 Community Project Funding through Congressman Tom Kean Jr.'s office at the March 24 Committee meeting.

"This is an important project, and we hope that if we get the grant that it will help support the cost of our capital projects," said Mayor Ana Duarte McCarthy at the meeting.

An explanatory statement from Township Engineer Thomas Timko said the grant would fund construction of a culvert at Pleasant Valley Park, eliminate the park road ford stream crossing, and build additional paths in the park.

"We appreciate the hard work of Tom Timko, the head of engineering, to fulfill the grant submission, as well as letters of support we received from Somerset County Administrator Colleen Maher, Assemblymen Andrew Macurdy and Vincent Kearney, and Senator John Bramnik," said McCarthy.
