Bernardsville News: Basking Ridge 'Abstract' Artist Featured At Morristown Gallery

Fans of the work of Jackson Pollock and other abstract expressionist painters might want to plan a trip to the Simon Gallery on Bank Street in Morristown to see the work of local artist, Serena Bocchino, on display until June 30.

According to a recent article by Rachel Mullen in the Bernardsville News, Boccino, a Basking Ridge resident, will display her "iPOP" series of paintings, a mix of high culture style with popular culture sentiments.

"Although these paintings appear to be completely spontaneous, they are actually well organized and thought out, balancing colors, negative and positive space, large and small elements," Mullen writes. "She is influenced by the natural world around her as well as jazz, cartoons and kitsch."
