Bicyclist Hit By Car Who Kept Driving Home In Basking Ridge
The driver of the car said he heard something but didn't think he hit the bicyclist and continued driving home, Basking Ridge Police said.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A bicyclist riding on Allen Road in Basking Ridge was hit by a car that left the scene and continued going home on Tuesday night.
On Sept. 10 around 6:50 p.m. a bicyclist was riding in the shoulder near Hamilton Road when a walker with a dog got close to the biker, Bernards Township Police Lt. Jon Burger said.
The biker moved toward the boundary line, that separates the bike lane from the roadway, to avoid the dog when he was hit by a car, Burger said.

The bicyclist did not report any injuries at the time of the report.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident to determine who is at fault, Burger said.
