Bobcat Slams Into Police Car In Basking Ridge
A bobcat ran out of the woods and into a Bernards Township police car early Friday morning.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A bobcat ran out of the woods and into a Bernards Township police car early Friday morning. The bobcat was killed in the incident.
Bernards Township Police Officer James Moore was driving south on North Maple Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. when a bobcat ran out of the woods, Police Lt. Jon Burger said.
The bobcat hit the front passenger side of the car causing damage and died at the scene, Burger said.

The dead bobcat was taken to the health department and animal control was notified.
