Bridgewater To Test World's Fastest Cell Phone Speeds

Bridgewater, NJ -- Bridgewater will be one of the lucky towns where customers can try out some of the world’s fastest cell phone speeds offered by Verizon.

Basking Ridge, Bridgewater and Piscataway are among the five cities, Verizon will begin testing its 5G network service next year, according to cnet.com.

The other two towns are Euless, Texas and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Verizon made the announcement Monday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

By next year, select customers will be able to try out the service with commercial-grade equipment, according to cnet.com.

However, 5G will not become a reality for the “average Joe” until around 2020, according to cnet.com.
