Brooks Betz Named Basking Ridge's Official Historian
Betz, known as Mr. Local History, is the second person to take the position of township historian.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Continuing to preserve and promote history in town, the Bernards Township Committee appointed Brooks Betz as official historian at its Oct. 29 meeting.
Betz, known as Mr. Local History, is the second person to take the position of township historian following June Kennedy who died in November of last year.
"It's a great honor to follow in June's footsteps as the second official historian in town. I'll never live up to the expectations she set, but I'll have the same tenacity that she always exhibited," Betz wrote on his website mrlocalhistory.org.
