Brush Fire On I-78 Closes Lanes In Basking Ridge

Firefighters are battling a blaze on Interstate 78 in Basking Ridge on Friday afternoon.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A brush fire ignited on Interstate 78 west in Basking Ridge on Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. on the highway just west of Exit 33 for County Route 525/Liberty Corner Rd/Martinsville in Bernards Township, according to the state Department of Transportation website 511nj.org.

As a result, the two right lanes and the shoulder of the three lanes are closed. This is causing a 5 to 10 minute delay.
