Bryan’s Dream Foundation, a Basking Ridge based public charity, is proud to announce the two winners of its 2014 scholarship. Tiffany Chen and Kevin Liu, Ridge high school seniors who will graduate in June, were selected from a pool of worthy contenders. Each will receive $1,000 towards their college expenses. Tiffany will be attending Brown University and Kevin will be going to Princeton University
The scholarship, funded by a donation from Nancy & Tim Opremcak, is in memory of their son, Bryan T. Opremcak, who passed away in 2006 of a brain tumor, at the age of 12. This scholarship is designed to honor the spirit and determination of Bryan, while he fought this deadly disease “Tiffany and Kevin have shown such dedication to their community and their studies, making them truly deserving of this award. We are proud to give this scholarship in honor of Bryan,” said Tim Opremcak, Bryan’s Dad.
Selection criteria for this scholarship emphasized community service and dedication and passion toward helping others. Providing this scholarship to deserving Ridge students will raise brain tumor awareness and reward those who “pay it forward” and give back to the community.
