Burglars Break Into Home, Steal Cars Worth $211K In Bernardsville

Police are asking residents in the community to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Police are investigating after burglars broke into a home to get car keys and stole two vehicles worth more than $200,000 in Bernardsville on Sunday.

On Nov. 26 at around 8:30 a.m., a resident of Blazure Drive reported to the Bernardsville Police Department that a suspicious white Kia Sport was running and unoccupied at the end of their driveway.

Police determined the Kia was stolen out of East Orange. While checking the area, Officers spoke with another homeowner in a nearby home who reported that their 2024 BMW X6 valued at around $146,000 and a 2021 Dodge Charger valued at around $65,000 had been stolen, said Bernardsville Police Chief John Remian.

The cars were parked in the driveway and were taken at around 4:05 a.m. on Nov. 26.

A police investigation found that at 4:02 a.m., a subject forced entry into the home through a back window while another subject waited outside.

Once inside the home, the actor located keys to the vehicles in a kitchen drawer. An Apple iPad valued at around $2,100 was also stolen from the kitchen, said Remian.

After getting the car keys, the actors left through the back of the home and were met by four additional subjects who abandoned the Kia Sport and drove off in the two stolen vehicles.

At around 1:50 p.m., the Dodge Charger was located in Irvington and that vehicle is currently being processed by the Bernardsville Police Department Detective Bureau.

This incident remains under investigation by the Bernardsville Police Department Detective Bureau.
