America 250 Event: A Visit From Betsy Ross

An America 250 event. Betsy Ross, during her lifetime, was more often known as Elizabeth Claypoole. She was one of thousands of average colonists whose efforts helped the American cause prevail against the British. Flag maker, seamstress, upholsterer, wife, mother and Quaker, she helped the new nation define itself through flags and colors. Learn all about Betsy, her husbands (plural) and her contributions to American Independence as well as her connections to America’s preeminent Founding Fathers.

Presenter: Alisa Dupuy, a master storyteller began her business "Ladies of History" in 2006 and portrays dozens of women in a fun and engaging way.
