On Saturday November 21, 2026, Great Swamp NWR and Friends of Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge will hold their annual Turkey Walk from 1:30-3:00 PM.
Friends volunteer naturalists will lead a guided walk into the Management Area of the refuge, normally closed to the public.
This leisurely walk will be about a 2.5-mile round trip on uneven gravel roadway and is not suitable for young children or strollers. Walkers will learn about the habitats, history, plants, and animals along the trail. Expert birders will help identify birds in this area.

Walkers will meet at the Bluebird Parking Lot, 197 Pleasant Plains Road, Harding Township 07920.
