Calling All Artists To Create Tribute of Historic White Oak in Basking Ridge

The Historical Society of Somerset Hills is asking artists to express how this historic natural landmark has touched them.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Historical Society of Somerset Hills is looking to celebrate the 600-year-old historic white oak tree of the Presbyterian Church of Basking Ridge, which died this past summer.

All artists 18 and older living in the Somerset Hills (Bedminster Township, Bernards Township, Bernardsville, Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills) are invited to express how this historic natural landmark has touched them.

Artists can use the medium of their choice – painting, sculpture, photography, poetry, song, or multi-media to express their personal experience of the Great Oak.
