Career Criminal Pleads Guilty To 21 Counts Of Burglary, Including Some In Bernards Township

A career criminal caught in the act during a Basking Ridge burglary in 2010 plead guilty to 21 different counts of burglary in Bergen County Superior Court.
according to the Bernards Township Police Department
Frank Pierro, age 55, plead guilty to 21 counts of burglary in Bergen County Superior Court on May 19. The guilty plea included five burglaries that occurred in Bernards Township and four burglaries that occurred in Bernardsville between October 2013 to January 2014. Pierro also plead guilty to one count of eluding and one count of receiving stolen property. He was sentenced on June 27 to 10 years in State Prison.

Pierro was arrested in 2010 while committing a burglary on Linden Drive in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards. Pierro was sentenced to state prison for that burglary and his 2002 Cadillac Seville was seized by township police in a forfeiture proceeding. Pierro was released from prison in 2013.
Pierro was again arrested on January 7, 2014 following a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle that ended in Fair Lawn, NJ. Pierro confessed to numerous burglaries, including the burglaries in Bernards Township and Bernardsville, after his arrest. Pierro also confessed that the 2013 and 2014 burglaries in Bernards Township and Bernardsville were revenge for his Cadillac being seized in 2010.

Bernards Township and Bernardsville detectives worked with numerous detectives from Northern New Jersey, speciffically the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, to solve these burglaries committed by Pierro. Pierro, who was homeless at the time of his arrest, is currenlty incarcerated at South Woods State Prison. Bernards Township Police Chief Brian Bobowicz and Bernardsville Police Chief Kevin Valentine would like to thank all the departments and detectives involved in this large statewide investigation.
