BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Meet Colonel! He has been chosen as Basking Ridge Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I'd like to nominate our foster pup, Colonel, as pet of the week for Basking Ridge. We live in the Liberty Corner area of Basking Ridge. He is 10 weeks old and is looking for his forever home.

We are working with Unleashed NY (www.unleashedny.org) and fostering this sweetie until he finds his new, happy family.

He loves playing with his toys and welcoming us with the thump-thump-thump of his wagging tail when we enter a room. He has the sweetest demeanor and is such a good boy.

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com. Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the part of town you're from. You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today.
