Congressional Candidate's First Official Kick-Off Party Saturday In Bernards
Douglas Herbert, Democratic challenger for the U.S. House of Representatives NJ-11th district is hosting a house party in town.

As of Friday, there are 116 days left until election day 2010, a number perhaps far smaller to politicians in the race than voters at home, but local candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives are wasting no time rolling our their campaigns.
Douglas Herbert, the Democratic challenger for New Jersey's 11th district in the U.S. House of Represenatives will hold his first official summer campaign house kick-off party in Bernards Township on Saturday, 10-11:30 a.m. at 199 Annin Road.
Anyone interested can RSVP for the event by emailing events@douglasherbert.org or calling 973.641.3409, although invitations did not state that RSVP's are required.

Herbert's campaign said that the house party, one of five planned for the same weekend, will give voters a chance to meet the candidate and hear his vision for the future of New Jersey.
In addition to the Basking Ridge party, Herbert will visit Madison, Randolph, Parsippany and Bloomingdale throughout the day on Saturday. The summer kick-off will culminate with a World Cup final watch Party on Sunday at Sona Thirteen on 13 South Street in Morristown.

The watch party is intended to be a laid-back atmosphere for voters to meet the candidate, according to the invitation.
Herbert will run against eight-term incumbent Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen for the 11th district seat. Both of the candidates were recently in Basking Ridge to give talks on the same day to seniors at Fellowship Village.
