Construction Of 222 Housing Units To Be Voted On Tuesday
The Bernards Township Committee will vote on a proposed affordable housing settlement to build 222 housing units on Tuesday night.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Committee will discuss a proposed settlement to build 222 additional housing units during Tuesday night's committee meeting.
The affordable housing litigation is with Affordable Housing intervenors, Bernards Plaza Associates, LLC (owners of the Dewy Meadow Shopping Center and the abandoned A&P site) and Crown Court Plaza, LLC. (owners of Crown Court Apartments).
In the proposed settlement the township would agree to allow Bernards Plaza Associates to build 198 residential units, including a 15 percent set aside for units be affordable to very low, low and moderate income households.

Additionally, the plan currently includes 96 housing units, including 19 low- and moderate-income units, to be built by Crown Court Plaza. With the settlement, it would permit 24 additional housing units, including four low- and moderate-income units to total 120 housing units and 23 low- and moderate-income units.
All public comments and questions on the proposed settlement will be a taken into consideration before the committee votes on the proposed settlement.
