Readers' Deli Choice in Basking Ridge? It's the Copper Kettle

"Meet me at the Copper Kettle" is a common phrase around town.

Head to the most days and you might be greeted by a friend — or two or three — who love hanging out at a relaxing spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and now even dinner.

The Copper Kettle is an informal meeting spot for lots of residents — for example, it's a place a lot of moms from the head to right after dropping their kids off for the first day of school.

The to-go and sit-down restaurant and delicatessen in an historic building in the center of Basking Ridge, with an inviting wraparound porch that's open during warm weather, was our Readers' Choice this week for best deli in Basking Ridge.

"You will enjoy great food including specialty dishes including some with a Mediterranean flair. The surroundings are relaxed and pleasant with music and there is outside seating in warm weather with wonderful views of the flower garden from the wraparound porch. Marco, the proprietor, makes each customer feel welcome and always has a smile. I highly recommend this jewel in the center of Basking Ridge."

Joe G. said he has been a customer and patron of the Copper Kettle for at least nine years. "In a world nowadays where "good enough" prevails, the Copper Kettle distinctly stands out from that & shines brightly!!"

He said he has seen the Copper Kettle get better and better in all categories, including lunch and, now, dinner. "The owner and staff are always friendly and go out of their way to please all patrons," Joe G. added.

Dinner service added at Copper Kettle

Just this week, the Copper Kettle has launched regular dinner service, with plans to stay open from Monday through Saturday until 9 a.m. A new chef has been hired, Ashraf Helan. He said that there will be many American dishes served for dinner.
