Basking Ridge Driver Crashes, Topples Utility Poles And Wires
A portion of S Finley Avenue remained closed throughout Monday, said Bernards Township Police.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — S Finley Avenue was closed through Monday following a crash that toppled wires and damaged multiple utility poles, said Bernards Township Police.
The crash was reported at 9:38 p.m. on Sunday on S Finley Avenue(County Route 613) at the intersection with Thompson Avenue, said Bernards Township Police Lt. Michael Sweeney.
No injuries were reported in the single-car crash. The driver who is a township resident was issued motor vehicle summons for careless driving and traffic on marked lanes, said Sweeney.

Several utility poles were damaged due to the crash and JCP&L expected the roadway between Stonehouse Road and Lyons Road to remain closed until later on Monday.
It reopened just before 8 p.m. on Monday.

As a result, 161 JCP&L customers were without power on Monday.
Drivers should avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
