Czig Meister Brewing To Be Featured In Basking Ridge Beer Festival

Local craft brewers and home brewers will be showcasing their brews at the Men of Charity's 8th annual Harvest Fest and NJ Microbrew night.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Local craft brewers and home brewers will be showcasing their brews at the Men of Charity’s 8th annual Harvest Fest and NJ Microbrew night in Basking Ridge.

The event will be held on Saturday Nov. 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at St. James School Gym, 200 So. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge where proceeds will support local families in need.

Among the local brewers featured will include Czig Meister Brewing of Hackettstown.

Czig Meister recently opened in June and is a family affair. Matt Czigler is the co-owner and head brewer and Frank Czigler is the other co-owner and runs the office.

Matt’s mom, Laura is coowner and helps with marketing.

Currently Czig Meister has four year-round beers and a few seasonals as well.

The year-round beers include:

  • The Huntsman - a German-style Kolsh
  • The Falconer - an American Pale Ale
  • The Prospector - an Amber Ale
  • The Blacksmith - an Oatmeal Stout

Czig plans to share some of their favorite year round brews and also some seasonals as well at the festivals, Kirsten Stout, who works at the brewery said.

Other NJ Craft brewers who will be at the festival include:

  • Cricket Hill Brewing Company, Fairfield
  • Czig Meister Brewing Company, Hackettstown
  • Demented Brewing Company, Middlesex
  • Flounder Brewing, Hillsborough
  • High Point Brewing Company (Ramstein), Butler
  • Hunterdon Brewing, Whitehouse Station
  • Jersey Girl Brewing Company, Hackettstown
  • Man Skirt Brewing, Hackettstown
  • Trap Rock Restaurant & Brewery, Berkeley Heights
  • Twin Elephant Brewing Company, Chatham

In addition, local home brewers include Michael Singer, Fabio Guerreiro and Paulo of New Burton Brewing Co., Ron Witkowski of Love2Brew, Robert Metcalf and Timothy Gaziano of 5th Dimension Brewing, Steve DiPasquo, James Foti, Eddie Anderson, James Hamilton, Stevie Grossweiler, and Josh Felter.

The Men of Charity are also seeking home brewers to participate in the Home Brew Tasting and Contest. Home brewers will compete for the title "best home brewer" by popular vote. Interested brewers should contact Glenn Booth at 908-202-5911 or glenn_booth@yahoo.com.

Advance tickets are $45 per person, tickets at the door are $50. Tickets include Micro-brews from NJ Craft Breweries & HomeBrewers, Wine from Stirling Fine Wines, Tasting Glass, Oktoberfest Cuisine, and Live Music. Proceeds support the local families in need.

The Men of Charity was formed in 2008 to engage in charitable service to the community at large. The members of the Men of Charity have been engaged in numerous service activities including clothing drives, volunteering at soup kitchens, and coordinating home repairs. Additionally, through their fundraising efforts, the Men of Charity make donations to individual families in times of need.
