Destination Imagination Winners Honored at Township Committee Meeting

The fifth-grade students from Bernards Township who won the global championship were presented with a resolution recognizing their success.

The seven, now locally famous, fifth grade students who finished first out of 72 teams internationally at the 2010 Destination Imagination global championships added one more award to their collections on Tuesday, with a special resolution and presentation from the Township Committee.

Mayor Scott Spitzer presented the five team members in attendance individual copies of the resolution in their honor.

"Bernards Township is a wonderful place, and what makes it a wonderful place is the people – in this case our kids," Spitzer said. "We recongize and congratulate the gold medal team in the 2010 global finals. We're proud of you."
