Disabled NJ Transit Train Closes Lake Road In Basking Ridge
Two Morris and Essex trains were canceled and the Gladstone Branch rail service was suspended Friday due to wire issues and a downed tree.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A NJ Transit train stuck at a Basking Ridge railroad crossing has caused Lake Road to close Friday morning, police said.
"Lake Road is closed at the railroad crossing due to a disabled train in the area. NJ Transit is working to resolve," said police in an alert sent out at 10:22 a.m.
The Morris and Essex train #480, which had a 10:13 a.m. arrival into Hoboken, is canceled at Basking Ridge due to overhead wire issues near Basking Ridge, tweeted NJ Transit.

The Morris and Essex train #411, which had a 10:27 a.m. arrival into Gladstone, is also canceled at Summit due to overhead wire issues resulting from a downed tree west of Basking Ridge, tweeted NJ Transit.
The Gladstone Branch rail service is also suspended between Gladstone and Stirling due to overhead wire issues resulting from a downed tree west of Basking Ridge, tweeted NJ Transit.
