Driver Charged With DUI On New Year's Day In Basking Ridge
Bernards Township Police also reported making an arrest heroin possession recently.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township arrested a Somerville resident for driving under the influence on New Year's Day.
On Jan. 1 at about 3 a.m. Justin T. Ramirez, 25, of Somerville was driving a 1996 two-door black BMW on Martinsville Road when he was stopped by Officer John Mulhall.
During the traffic stop, Mulhall said he smelled the odor of alcohol coming from Ramirez and began conducting field sobriety tests.

Ramirez was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Chemical tests found the alcohol content in his system was above the legal limit, police report.

On Jan. 6 at about 3:46 p.m.: Sara Russell, 33, of Hillsborough was arrested for an active warrant out of Princeton for possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS) paraphernalia and for possession of heroin. Officer Raymond Gizienski observed a 2006 red four-door Mercedes Benz at the Martinsville Exxon. He proceeded to randomly check the license plate on his mobile computer and learned of the warrant. During the arrest, Officer Baldassare performed a search of Russell and found the CDS paraphernalia and heroin from Russell’s black winter coat. Russell was transported to the Somerset County Jail.
