There was one uncontested local race in Bernards Township. 

Republican incumbent Carol Bianchi, who is currently mayor, is running for one three-year seat on the Benards Township Committee. There are no opponents vying for this position.

  • Carol Bianchi - 2,711 votes

Presidential Race:

  • Republican Donald Trump - 16,861 votes
  • Republican John R. Kasich - 4,136 votes
  • Republican Ted Cruz - 1,345 votes
  • Democrat Hillary Clinton - 19,483 votes
  • Democrat Bernie Sanders - 12,151 votes

Sheriff Race

The primary race for Somerset County Sheriff's position, one three-year term, had one incumbent republican and contested on the Democrat side with two candidates.

  • Incumbent Republican Frank Provenzano of Raritan - 19,917 votes
  • Democrat Darrin Russo of Somerset - 17,887 votes
  • Democrat Alexander E. Clark of Somerset - 10,525 votes

Freeholder Race

The Democrat spot was contested as two ran for one three-year Freeholder position for Somerset County. One uncontested republican also ran.

  • Republican Incumbent Patricia “Pat” Walsh of Green Brook - 19,614 votes
  • Democrat Maria L. Rodriguez of Bridgewater - 18,197 votes
  • Democrat Lisa A. Kazmier of Manville - 10,406 votes
