Emergency Blood Shortage Drive To Be Held In Basking Ridge
Currently, the American Red Cross has less than a three-day supply. Those who donate will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A blood drive will be held in Basking Ridge to help address the current emergency blood shortage. Additionally those who donate will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.
Currently, the American Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types available and less than a two-day supply of type O blood.
The blood drive will be held on Aug. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, at 184 S. Finley Ave. in Basking Ridge.

Other Somerset County blood drives include:
- Far Hills: Aug. 2 from 2 to 7 p.m., Far Hills-Bedminster First Aid Squad, 500 Route 202
- Raritan: Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson St.
- Somerset: Aug. 12 from 3 to 8 p.m., The Harrison, 575 Easton Ave.
- Somerset: Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aon, 400 Atrium Drive
- Warren: Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Stonecrest Community Church, 11 Technology Drive
Individuals can schedule an appointment to donate now by activating Amazon’s Alexa Red Cross Blood Skill by saying, "Alexa, find a blood drive," or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
