Emergency Preparedness Event To Be Offered In Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge residents can get practical emergency planning tips during a National Preparedness Month program on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Bernards Township Library, 32 South Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.

The program will be presented by the American Red Cross New Jersey Region.

Attendees will learn how to prepare their home and family for fires and winter storms, review preparedness essentials for any emergency, and get information on creating an emergency plan and building a supply kit.

The program will cover ways to stay informed and connected during local emergencies.

Resources will also be featured from the Bernards Township Health Department, Bernards Township Office of Emergency Management, Bernards Township Fire Safety, and Basking Ridge Fire Company EMS.

"September is National Preparedness Month. Are you ready for the next emergency?" according to Bernards Township. "Learn simple, practical ways to prepare your home, protect your family, and stay connected when it matters most."

The program is aimed at helping residents think through common emergency situations that can affect daily life, including fires and winter weather.
