The Bernards Township Health Department will sponsor "Healthier Holidays: Strategies for Eating Smarter for a Healthier 2017"

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department will sponsor the last in the series “Nutrition for Optimal Health” entitled “Healthier Holidays: Strategies for Eating Smarter for a Healthier 2017” on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Garabrandt Center located at 4 Wilson St., Mendham.

Living Plate, an innovative group of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Chefs, will present this nutrition education program and food demonstration (http://livingplate.com).

Holidays are festive and joyous times involving family, friends, fun and food! The average American gains one to two pounds during the holiday season which tends to stay into the new year. A few simple strategies for mindful eating in moderation will help prevent the accumulation of excess, unhealthy weight gain during the holidays.

The professionals from Living Plate will utilize a unique integrative approach of nutrition education and a food demonstration to give participants the skills, knowledge, and resources to improve their health as they enjoy the holidays.
