
The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

exploration of the Great Swamp using the five senses to explore
the natural world.
Fee is $30 per pair for the 4-day session and $15 per additional child.

Birding at Brig
Wednesday, March 15 from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Adult birders will travel to Forsyth National Wildlife Refuge, home to
fantastic waterfowl, amazing shorebirds, spectacular raptors, and
beautiful songbirds. Beginner and advanced birders are welcome.

Winter Walking in the Pines
Sunday, March 19 from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Adults will enjoy a leisurely Naturalist-led walk through the New Jersey Pine Barrens, with visits to local attractions that may include
Whitesbog Village, the Everet Nature Trail, the Franklin Parker Preserve or Lebanon State Forest.
Fee is $50 per adult and $40 per senior.

“The Great Swamp Experience” on the lower lever at the EEC features interactive
displays, vignettes, taxidermy, and archeological artifacts highlighting the history
and ecology of the Great Swamp. The exhibit is open 7 days a week from 9:00
A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Admission is free.
Please note that dog walking is not permitted on the trails at the Environmental Education Center.
