A special event celebrating Colonial life as experienced on the site of Lord Stirling’s manor will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the EEC. Historical and environmental education will be presented as Revolutionary War hero William Alexander, Lord Stirling, who lived on the site and served under General George Washington will be discussed.
Family and friends are invited to step back in time to the Colonial Period where craftspeople ply their trades, a town crier delivers the daily news, and military detachments camp and conduct maneuvers. Children's activities will include stenciling, quill writing, making clay pots, and playing colonial games. Fresh apple cider will be made and hay rides will be available. Visitors may try on colonial costumes and have their pictures taken in colonial wooden stock. All are welcome.
