Pump it Up for Platelets: 5K Walk/Run for PDSA

A 5K walk/run will be held honoring the memory of  Erik Anderson, 18, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, who passed away on May 16, 2011 due to complications of a bone marrow transplant. Registration will be begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Hut of Bernards Township Pleasant Valley Park.

Erik had rare immune disorders, including ITP, a disease which affects the platelet count in a persons blood. Erik was an active Platelet Disorder Support Association (PDSA) member. He also helped with the New Jersey PDSA local support group for people with platelet conditions. Erik was undergoing a bone marrow transplant during last years walk/run and he was hoping to organize this years event.  Participants of this event will help contribute to this great cause in Erik's memory.

Pump It Up for Platelets! ~ for a world free of ITP proceeds will benefit PDSA programs and research. Proceeds makes it possible to continue to expand the information, member services, and research PDSA provides.
