Ridge High School Marching Band Competition - 2nd Annual

The public is invited to the 2nd annual Ridge High School Marching Band Competition on Saturday, October 29 starting at 2 pm.  This year’s event will feature 20 New Jersey and New York bands and over 1,400 performers.

 

The competition will be split into an afternoon program (2 pm) and an evening program (7 pm).  Exciting Awards ceremonies will conclude each session at 5:15 pm and 9:30 pm.  A special “surprise” performance will occur at 5 pm prior to the first awards ceremony.

Tickets will be available at the Lee Field gate starting at 1 pm and admission includes both programs.  Additional event information can be found at the Ridge Marching Band Competition website:  www.wix.com/rhsmbc/2011.

Delicious food and snacks will be served in between performances by the Ridge High School Band Parents Association.  Friends and Neighbors of local band students can purchase “Air Grams” (broadcast announcements) and “Candy Grams” to show their support.

 

Bands will compete in 8 different categories based on band size and experience level:

 

Afternoon Program at 2 pm

 

Group IA: Manville, Paramus Catholic

Group IIA: Belleville, Bernards, Dover, Hasbrouck Heights, Hicksville NY

Group IVA: Watchung Hills, Wayne Hills

Group VIA and VI Open: New Providence, Hunterdon Central

 

Evening Program at 7 pm

 

Group IIIA: Columbia, Hanover Park, Livingston, Metuchen, North Warren, Vorhees

Group III Open: Glen Ridge

Group VA: Verona

 

Ridge, the host band, will perform in exhibition at the conclusion of the evening program. 

The William Annin Middle School wind ensemble will perform the opening National Anthem immediately prior to the 2 pm start.
