
An easy walk through the Whittemore Wildlife Sanctuary in Tewskbury will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. A naturalist guide will lead hikers on a search for the butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds relishing the last days of summer.
Covering 180-acres, this sanctuary includes a large variety of habitats, including deciduous wetland and upland forests, stands of conifers with red cedar, Virginia pine and white pine, wetlands, fields, successional areas, stream and riverine ecology and vernal pools.
