Fall Fest, Street Fair: Somerset County This Weekend

This weekend is calling for beautiful weather and there are plenty of fall activities in the Somerset County area:

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Fall festivities rule the day during the first weekend in October as we roll more into fall and get ready to celebrate the spooky spirit of Halloween.

These are some of the events planned for this weekend in Somerset County:

Bernards Township Mayor's Fall Festival

The Mayor's Fall Festival for 2024 is returning to Bernards Township on Oct. 5. Presented by the Bernards Township Parks & Recreation, the festival will be held at the Municipal Complex and Astor Fields from 2 to 5 p.m. Parking is available at Ridge High School, 268 S Finley Ave.

The festival will include pumpkin rolling races, hay rides and a corn maze, DJ, games, arts and crafts, free cider and donuts, historical tours, and free face painting.

This year the Bernards Township Police Department will also be hosting Cider with a Cop and Friends and will be featuring an expanded touch-a-truck display.

Somerville Street Fair and Craft Fair

The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street in Somerville. It will feature a variety of vendors with artwork, crafts, products or services.

8th Annual North Branch Volunteer Fire Company Fire Prevention Open House & Pumpkin Patch

The event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1155 County Route 614, Somerville, includes a variety of activities:

  • Fire House and Fire Truck Tours-Kids can use an actual fire hose to "put out the fire"
  • A fire safety class-A live vehicle extrication demonstration
  • A basic first aid demonstration-A children's firefighter obstacle course
  • A pumpkin patch(Cash only)
