Family Praise Festival Returns for 4th Annual Outdoor Concert
Fellowship Deaconry Ministries
Fellowship Deaconry Ministries (the Deaconry) will kick off the Fall season with its 4th annual outdoor Family Praise Festival on Saturday, October 10th. The festival is open from 11 A.M. and closes at 5:00 P.M. The Deaconry is located on Valley Road in Basking Ridge.
After being shut down for months due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Deaconry is excited to open its facility for this community event and provide a fun, outdoor event for families and friends.
“People have asked me if we will be hosting the Family Praise Festival this year,” says Fellowship Deaconry Ministries Executive Director, Rev. Joel Davis, “We are thrilled to be able to continue this annual tradition.” The Family Praise Festival has been a well attended event over the years, and offers something for all ages. Live bands will be performing throughout the day, and guests can participate in games and activities, a hayride and pumpkin decorating, fresh food (featuring grilled burgers, brats and franks) and ice cream, an array of craft vendors and service exhibitors, and even a prayer tent.

Fellowship Deaconry Ministries is home to Day Camp Sunshine, Sunshine Preschool, and the Conference and Retreat Center where groups can gather for retreats, picnics and special occasions. Shanti Fabiunke, Director of the Conference Center, is excited to welcome the community back. She tells us: “After a spring and summer that saw us having to close our business for a time due to the Covid-19 regulations, we are excited to be able to host an outdoor event this fall that gives people an opportunity to connect and do something fun and uplifting!”
Day Camp Sunshine Director, Chris Hendrickson, spoke about how the summer camp stayed safe despite the Pandemic. “Day Camp Sunshine opened its doors for 8 weeks to approximately 100 campers per week, and we had 0 (zero) covid cases. Our commitment to social distancing, hand sanitizing, disinfecting, separation of cohorts, and conducting almost all activities outdoors was the recipe for success.”
