Final Votes Counted: Last Bernards Township Seat Claimed
The mail-in votes were finally counted on Tuesday night.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The final votes are finally in after a nail biting election for the Bernards Township election where four candidates were vying for the two three-year seats on the township committee.
As of Friday, candidates for the township committee seat democrat Joan B. Harris who got 6,146 votes and republican John Surano who got 6,155 votes are only nine votes apart.
After the mail-in votes were counted on Tuesday night, Harris was declared the winner with 6,335 votes over Surano with 6,306 votes.

Republican Joseph Esposito final vote count was 6,355 and democrat Robert J. Mascia got 6,076votes.
Both Esposito and Harris will be sworn in at the Jan. 2, 2019 meeting.
