Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic Being Held In Basking Ridge

No appointments are necessary.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township free rabies vaccination clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bernards Township Public Works Garage, 277 South Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.

As a reminder, all Bernards Township dogs and cats must be licensed, as per NJ statue 4:19-15.2a and Bernards Township Ordinance BH:10-5.2. All current dog and cat licenses expire on Jan. 31 of each year.

Mail all pet licenses to the Bernards Township Health Department, 262 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.

In order for a license to be issued, the owner must present proof that a licensed veterinarian has vaccinated the dog / cat against rabies and that the duration of immunity from that vaccination extends through at least 10 months of the 12-month licensing period.

An exemption to the rabies inoculation requirement shall be granted if the owner presents written certification from a licensed veterinarian that the dog/cat cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or course of therapy.
