Somerset County Free Summer Concert Series Begins This Weekend

The Somerset County Park Commission has scheduled another summer of Sunday evening live concert performances at the Duke Island Park band shell on Old York Road in Bridgewater.

All concerts are free and lovers of all types of music are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy relaxed Sunday evenings highlighted by live entertainment.

On Sunday, July 10 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Park Commission will feature the unique harmonies and horns of Chicago with “Beginnings – A Chicago Tribute.”

The music of the band Chicago is timeless, with classics that define generations. Their songs are brought to life when performed by the talented group of musicians called Beginnings.

Beginnings’ depth of talent is focused on Chicago’s five #1 albums and 20 top ten hits.

Their performances exceptionally recreate every decade of the band’s hits.

Beginnings is a family friendly melodic adventure, pleasing to music lovers of all ages.

Concert sponsor is the Somerset County Park Foundation and WMGQ.

The Summer Free Concert series will continue on Sunday, July 17, 7 p.m. with Yeehaw – A Smokin’ Country Band.
