George Washington & His Spies Concert - October 27 at 2:00 pm
Farmstead Arts Center, 450 Basking Ridge, New Jersey

On Sunday, October 27 at 2 PM, Farmstead Arts will present Anne and Ridley Enslow in a concert of colonial music in the Farmhouse at 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. Tickets: $20 general admission $15 seniors, students; $10 Farmstead Members, in advance or at the door. Tickets are available at http://farmsteadarts.eventbrite.com or cash only at the door.
In this family-friendly program, Anne and Ridley Enslow will present an entertaining event complete with ballads, songs, and dance tunes, each preceded with a brief descriptive story. In honor of the General, they'll bring along a little dancing doll called the limberjack, dressed to look like George Washington. This lively percussion instrument invariably steals the show. Join us and find out!
In this up close and personal 60-minute performance, they will perform songs about Major John Andre, the famous British spy hanged by the Americans; Benedict Arnold, brilliant general and ultimate traitor who was working with Andre; and John Champe, who tried unsuccessfully to capture Arnold.

The Enslows, who have appeared at the Farmstead on several previous occasions, will wear period dress and play instruments that are appropriate to the colonial period. Ridley plays an 18th-century violin built in France in 1776, and Anne is a master of the hammered dulcimer, a trapezoidal instrument with nearly 100 strings that are struck with little wooden hammers.
