Greater Somerset County YMCA Spreads Holiday Cheer

The Greater Somerset County YMCA delivered more than 1,000 Gifts to local families through the annual Giving Tree Tradition.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — In the true spirit of the holiday season, Greater Somerset County YMCA brought joy to hundreds of local families through its annual Giving Tree tradition, delivering more than 1,000 gifts to children and families in need.

Each year from November through early December, Hillsborough, Princeton, Somerset Hills, and Bridgewater/Somerville branches host Giving Tree gift drives.

Trees are decorated with ornaments listing a child’s name, age, and holiday wish, inviting YMCA members, staff, and volunteers to participate by selecting an ornament and purchasing a gift.

Thanks to the collective generosity of the YMCA community, staff, and volunteers, acting as Santa’s helpers, collected, sorted, and wrapped gifts during special wrapping events held at YMCA branches. This effort helped brighten the holidays for nearly 150 families.

Through initiatives like the Giving Tree, Greater Somerset County YMCA continues to strengthen community connections and provide meaningful support to neighbors in need.
