Harlem Wizards To Play Against Liberty Corner Teachers, Staff

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — In March, residents can see Liberty Corner School teachers and staff play against the Harlem Wizards in a fundraiser game to benefit the school.

The game hosted by the Liberty Corner School PTO is set to take place on Sunday, March 23 at Ridge High School. Doors open at 3 p.m., with the game set to begin at 4 p.m.

"The LCS staff is excited to demonstrate our teamwork, determination and how our school pride extends far beyond the classroom. We are also thrilled to bring the students, staff, and the community together to highlight the power of teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride. It will be a memorable event that showcases the energy and dedication that make Liberty Corner a truly special place!" said Liberty Corner School Principal Dr. James Oliver to Patch.

This community event is a fun-filled evening of basketball, entertainment, and community spirit, with proceeds benefiting Liberty Corner School.

"We're inviting everyone from around in town to come and join. It's really fun," said Gayatri Joshi of the Liberty Corner School PTO. "The Harlem Wizards will come and do all of these really fun tricks and play a game against our LCF staff who have volunteered to play on the team. Our principals are also volunteering to be the coaches. So it's really exciting."

With rim-rattling dunks, mesmerizing ball-handling, and jaw-dropping tricks, the Wizards deliver an awe-inspiring show. But what makes it truly special is the hometown involvement. From on-court experiences for kids to cheering on beloved teachers and community leaders, everyone has a chance to be part of the fun, according to the PTO.

Kids with a Wizards jersey can join the team for pre-game warm-ups, and audience members can volunteer in contests and hilarious acts throughout the evening. As a grand finale, all students are invited to join the Wizards on the court for an end-of-night dance celebration.
