Head Lice Reported At Liberty Corner School
This is the first case of reported head lice in Bernards Township Schools.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The first case of head lice has been reported in Bernards Township schools, the school nurse announced.
The report was found at Liberty Corner Elementary School and announced on Friday, Nov. 25, according to Robin Youtkus, school nurse.
"Head lice are one of the nuisances that parents of school age children occasionally find themselves dealing with," Youtkus stated in a letter to parents. "When students are in direct head to head contact with an individual that has lice, lice can spread."

To minimize re-infestation parents are being urged to discuss prevention techniques with their children:
Reminding children to maintain his or her own body space and avoid direct head-to- head contact when playing;
Encourage children not to play with each other’s hair, lend or borrow hair ties, barrettes, hats,combs, or brushes;
During a sleepover, have children bring their own pillow instead of sleeping crowded head to head with other children.
"By working together, the ultimate goal is to prevent any further cases of head lice," Youtkus wrote.
