Health Hike With the Mayor, Today At Dunham Park

The event is part of the Toxic Waistline competition, but open to all.

With 140 participants signed up for the Mayor's Wellness Campaign "Toxic Waistline" competition, the first community exercise event should be well attended today, a health hike at Dunham Park.

The park is located at the corner of Somerville Road and Liberty Corner Road and includes a 1 mile paved bike or jogging path, as well as a 0.8 mile nature trail. Mayor Scott Spitzer and Parks and Recreation Chair Anne Scanniello will lead the walk. The hike will run from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is an initiative to promote active living and healthier lifestyles for the men, women and children of Bernards Township.  Various fitness and exercise events with Bernards Township Committee members are being held during the year.

The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is a state-wide program initiative through the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute in partnership with the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
