High Schoolers to run 'RidgeHacks,' coding competition for all

The Ridge High School Computer Science Club will organize the first-ever RidgeHacks, a twelve hour hackathon on Saturday, April 27th

The Ridge High School Computer Science Club is excited to announce its first annual 12-hour RidgeHacks hackathon event on April 27th in Basking Ridge, NJ. Backed by sponsors like LGS Innovations and Starbucks, the entirely high-school run event is open to all. Register at www.ridgehacks.com.
For the uninitiated, a hackathon is a free team-based coding and engineering competition where students work to create an innovative project from start to finish in a given time period and show off their work to a panel of expert judges at the end in order to gain experience and prizes (RidgeHacks plans to give away over $600 worth of giveaways at the event, including four GoogleHome minis). With groups up to four people and a tradition of helping opposing teams who are in need, the event not only fosters teamwork but as an excellent learning experience for beginners and experienced coders alike.
RidgeHacks will be running from 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM at Ridge High School with hacking from 9AM to 9 PM. Professional mentors who are able to help students with their projects are available during the entire duration of the event, and in addition to the coding, the team promises a cup stacking tournament, a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament, and two workshops. Hackers will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they will be hearing two guest speakers at the opening and closing ceremony. Not only will the event be a fun-filled and unforgettable experience, but most importantly, it is completely free of charge due to generous donations by a variety of local sponsors.
RidgeHacks registration is available until April 20th. If you are interested in volunteering, mentoring, or judging at this event, a separate form can be found on the same website. Hope to see you there!
