Historical Society Of Somerset Hills Celebrates 90th Anniversary

The outdoor celebration will include free food, giveaways, and live music from Basking Ridge's own Café Racers and plenty of birthday cake.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills (THSSH) will celebrate its 90th Anniversary with a free Community Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Brick Academy parking lot.

From 2 to 5 p.m., the outdoor celebration will include free food, giveaways, and live music from Basking Ridge’s own Café Racers and plenty of birthday cake. A rain date of Sunday, Sept. 16, 2 to 5 p.m. is scheduled.

Free parking will be available just west of the Brick Academy at the Oak Street Elementary School.

During the outdoor celebration, the Brick Academy will also be open for self-guided tours that include exhibits representing the history of Bernardsville, Bernards Twp., Bedminster, Far Hills, Peapack & Gladstone.

The “Collectors’ Cabinet” pop-up exhibits highlight Cruciverbalism: the History of Crossword Puzzles and 90 years of Historical Society history artifacts. The totally refurbished 1890s schoolroom on the second floor of the academy will also be open.
